H2O – CH Technology

ABLabs Ltd. is knowledge-intensive cleantech start-up company with focus on developing alternative solutions for low emission mobility.

Novel type of retrofit solutions to be used in Common Rail (CR) diesel engines are based on unique and patented technology “GAS ULTRASONIC TRANSDUCER SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR OPERATING A DIESEL COMMON-RAIL ENGINE” (H2O-CH technology). Int. App. No. PCT/EP2020/064219, owned by ABLabs.

H2O-CH technology is based on the concept how to make the alkane gas suitable for withstanding the compression temperatures, how to make the fuel mix, inject it into the CR diesel engine, so the combustion process is harmonized to burn diesel and alkane gases simultaneously without any potential harm to the engine, including diesel engine knocking, ensure optimal engines performance under different load conditions, and allowing to take full advantage of CR technology.

The deployment of the technology allows to replace diesel with alkane gases, LPG, CNG and their bio-equivalents (BioLPG, BioCNG).

The uniqueness is in using water vapor as a catalyst. In addition, the instantaneous temperature in the engine’s combustion chamber causes splitting of the water molecules into hydrogen and oxygen called Thermolysis. Instant burning of them increases the engine’s efficiency, so less fuel (diesel and alkane gas) should be used to maintain engines optimal working conditions.

By using water vapor and mixing gas with it, technology ensures more efficient combustion process of the fuel mixture in the engine. It ensures optimal engine performance under different load conditions, allows to take full advantage of CR technology in diesel engines, resulting in reduction of diesel consumption.

The H2O-CH technology builds on the efficiency and benefits of the diesel common-rail engine technology and allows to operate the engine using alternative, low emission fuels. Therefore, our strategy is to adapt diesel engines to low emission sustainable mobility requirements. Choice and availability of alternative fuels, development and availability of relevant infrastructure of refuelling stations across Europe and world-wide are factors that have determined our strategy to develop and implement the H2O – CH technology. Our mission is to support efforts towards moving to low and zero emission mobility.

Technology can be deployed in all type of vehicles powered by CR diesel engines up to 18 Liters of engine displacement, is scalable thanks to existing and proven LPG/CNG refuelling infrastructure, brings immediate positive environmental effect as allows to reduce diesel consumption by up to 60% to 80% and GHG emissions as well as other harmful emissions, like NOx, CO, HC, PM, even by 80%. The use of our technology does not require modification of the engine.
